An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA), is a very useful legal document that enables someone (the donor) to appoint one or more persons (the attorneys) to manage their financial affairs and property, either now or in the future. We recommend that you contact one of our solicitors for advice.
Anyone can make one, provided they are mentally capable of understanding the meaning and effect of the EPA.
The EPA remains in force, even if the donor becomes mentally incapable of managing his or her own affairs. However, the attorney must apply to register the Power when there is reason to believe that the donor may not be of sound mind.
